The giant social media including Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Microsoft have announced they are working together to identify and remove extremist content – a fight against online extremism.
The massive media announced on Monday night about the plan of a joint database of terrorist images as well as videos that are promoting terrorism or to identify them – the database is of unique digital fingerprints and to detect the agenda more appropriate manner. The announcement comes from the media after MPs warned that social network is failed to crack down on the terrorist.
The database is of hashes – this is a way to recognize the image at social networks when posted by other users on site and then database alert the site if it is uploaded by the user e.g. if a user posted extremist picture on any twitter account then twitter update it to the database that will alert Facebook if the same picture is posted by any other terrorist.
The database will use to upload the images and the information is divided to all other firms to police the content and have images, videos and they are identified by hashes way the file is uniquely identified by the firm and then it is scrub by the respective buytramadolbest.com/xanax.html sites and services.
The companies shared statement added that we are hopeful on collaboration and it is the best solution to overcome the terrorism and it must be proven to greater efficiency – as companies have different security policies so they are satisfied on hashes of the file on a database.
The strength of central database is that if the extremist photo is removed from one site then it is also removed from other media but what if it is only removed by single platform then it is a weak strategy.
Tech firms are under pressure from a government on fail of the crackdown and they are in meeting since January to tackle the situation and this is the conclusion of the pressure that four firms are ready to work together and block the terror from social media.
The twitter also added that it blocked nearly 360 thousand accounts from media for spreading terror since 2015 for violation of rules – and these firms also work together early to combat accounts sharing image of child sexual exploitation.
